In August 2003, Andrew decided to close the bathroom shop and concentrate all his time on providing a specialists' fitting service. He continued to employ four plumbers and also returned to installing himself, which is what he enjoys. Finally, after 10 years of managing and employing people, on October 1st 2004, Andrew returned to life as a sole proprietor and now has his office back at home. He carries out all the work himself, concentrating mainly on bathroom installations, and when necessary contracts other specialist trades to help with tiling, plastering, etc. "I have had 10 very good years experience running the bathroom showrooms, which has enabled me to get a better knowledge of products and from this I can advise customers on bathrooms to suit their requirements. I have made some good contacts over the years, but I now wish to do what I enjoy most and that is installations, where I get the most job satisfaction." The only downside to these changes is that Andrew's workload is now very full and he is now finding customers having to wait a little longer for installations. |
